Craft Anything builds your own version of almost any app.

Craft Anything is a free, open source app from the ArtCraft team, the people behind the free rebuilds of Word, Photoshop and AutoCAD. Point it at a website or app, or give it pictures, and Claude Code builds your own version, then it checks the result against the original and keeps fixing what doesn't match.

The short version

Study, build, check, repeat.

Craft Anything comes from the ArtCraft team, who also made WordCraft, PhotoCraft and CADCraft. You pick a website, an app or a game, say what you want in plain words, and press Start.

It studies the original, has a coding agent build a brand new project in the language or framework you ask for, then compares that build with the original and lists what still doesn't match. It keeps refining until the two are close.

The app is free and open source under MIT or Apache-2.0, with downloads for Mac, Windows, Linux and FreeBSD. It's an early alpha, and building needs Claude Code signed in to your own account.

How a rebuild works

Four steps, and it asks you when a decision is yours.

Study

Step 1. It looks at the original. For a website that means screenshots of each page at desktop, tablet and phone widths, plus the colours, fonts and spacing.

Build

Step 2. A coding agent builds a new project. Claude Code is supported first, running on your computer under your own account.

Check

Step 3. It compares the build with the original, lists what doesn't match yet, and gives each page a likeness score.

Ready

Step 4. You open the result, or ask for changes in plain words and it refines it.

How fast it is

From the project's own test runs, and from mine.

In the developers' own live runs, a website clone reached Ready at 96% likeness in about a minute and a half, and a small desktop app took about nine minutes.

I gave it three screenshots of my own Spanish lessons app, and about 14 minutes later it had a working web version with the home screen, the city map and a full lesson you can click through. Screens it never saw were its own best guess, and it used stand-in pictures because nobody had confirmed the photos were mine.

Clean room or Deep

How closely it looks at the original.

Clean room

Default. Nothing inside the original is read. It works from what any visitor can see, and pictures you add.

Deep

Private use. It reads the original's code and files with every tool it has. Only for software you own or are allowed to examine.

Just look inside

No AI. Opens an app to see how it works without building anything. That part runs on its built-in engines, so it doesn't need a Claude account.

What it won't do

The project's own rules.

It asks before it reuses anyone's logos, photos or text, and leaves placeholders unless you confirm you own them or have permission. It never gets around DRM, logins or anti-cheat.

Use it on software you own or are allowed to examine, like your own site, your own app, or a design you drew.
